CB West Instrumental Music and Guard Staff

Edward F. Protzman is a highly motivated conductor and educator.  He has dedicated himself to the pursuit of excellence in wind band performance and instrumental music education.  Mr. Protzman has an extensive educational background in conducting, performance, and music education.  He has obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music Percussion Performance from Pennsylvania State University at Kutztown PA and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Moravian College in Bethlehem Pennsylvania.  In 2002 he was awarded the prestigious Wind Band Conducting Diploma for his graduate level studies in wind band conducting at the University of Calgary.  In the fall of 2007 Mr. Protzman will be attending the University of Delaware where he will be pursuing a Masters of Music Degree in Instrumental Conducting under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Streckfuss.  While at the University of Delaware he will be the graduate conducting assistant for the university wind ensemble. 

 

Since June of 2002 Mr. Protzman has been the Director of Bands at Central Bucks High School West in Doylestown PA.  In his current position he is in charge of the CB West Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Marching Band.  In the fall of 2003 he created the Central Bucks School District Honors Wind Ensemble.  The Honors Wind Ensemble is made of auditioned students from all three of high schools in the Central Bucks School District.  Prior to teaching at CB West Mr. Protzman was the Director of Bands at Wilson Area High School in Easton PA.

 

Mr. Protzman is also the conductor of the Doylestown Symphonic Winds a semi professional wind ensemble made of professional and amateur performers from the Doylestown and Philadelphia region.
